Another highlight was the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum. In his travels, the famous writer visited and fell in love with Samoa. So in the late 1800's he and his wife bought some property there and built a beautiful home constructed from imported, California redwood. When he died, the Samoan people built an elaborate gravesite atop a hill, Mt Vaea, over looking his beloved"Vailima". Today his home, "Vailima", is a restored museum dedicated to and honoring Stevenson.

It seems as though I could write an entire book on our visit to Samoa. We experienced so much there. Some of the other highlights I would say were the "Siva Afi", or fire danceing that Samoa is famous around the Pacific for, the magnificent blowholes, the traditional art work, the surfing and, of course, the people. I'll simply let the pictures tell the rest of the story...
